The AIDT Maritime Training Center staff will be set up as a vendor at the Mobile Community Action Head Start P.R.E.S.S. For Success Annual Parent Conference on March 26th, 2014. The Maritime Staff will assist in giving parents information on The Maritime Training Center and the opportunities available to them through our center.
P.R.E.S.S. For Success stands for Producing - Reinforcing - Encouraging Super Stars. Jacquela Humbert, Head Start Mental Health /Family Engagement Coordinator describes the day conference as, "Our parent conference focuses on the services and information that our parents need and brings those things to their fingertips under one roof. Our theme is that “Parents are their child’s first teachers” and we partner with them in our program to focus on their child’s development as well as the development of the whole family so that they can all have a HEAD START as the children begin their educational journey."
Information given at the conference will include: Information on job training, earning your degree, financial counseling, transitioning to public school and much more. All parents of The Mobile Community Action Head Start enrolled children are invited to attend. The conference is taking place at The Ashbury Hotel on March 26th, 2014 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m. with lunch provided. The Ashbury Hotel address is 600 W I-65 Service Road, Mobile, Alabama 36608.
The Mobile Community Action Head Start has been providing high-quality early care and education services in the Mobile area since 1965. Mobile community ActionHead Start serves 1463 children, ages 3 and 4, and their families within 19 centers, in Mobile and Washington counties.
